the Harvest Vision and Purpose
The concept behind the Harvest is growing up a new generation of kids who know their identity in Christ as they become productive members of society. Young men can learn a trade, understand how a business operates through working with mentors, and while surrounded by a family unit. Far too many aged out orphans are left to their own devices and end up on the street or in jail. There is a very high failure rate for these kids, and they often resort to prostitution and drugs in order to survive. The purpose and vision of the Harvest is to change their future. We hope to start a chain reaction of harvest upon harvest.
Lynn and Jim Briley – Founders
Victoria Lynn and Jim founded the Harvest out of a heart to help young men who were aging out of the foster system and had no one to support them. They watched their Latvian “son” experiencing first hand the trauma and heartache orphans go through once they are no longer adoptable.
Sarah Bowers – Board Member
Sarah has always had a heart for missions and children. As a strong, single mother of three sons, she knows the value of believers in community surrounding her sons as they grow into adulthood. The Lord led her to join in the Harvest several years ago after meeting Lynn and hearing their story.
Kami Ralph
Kami and her husband Carter met the Briley family in Atlanta where they were first training to become a host family in 2015. Kami is a CPA and runs her own business. She thinks in dollars and cents and keeps things in order. More than that, she has a heart for these kids based on first hand knowledge having hosted and raised her own children from Latvia.
